Reza Radmand, DMD, FAAOM

Dr. Radmand formed Achaemenid with an extraordinarily innovative spirit and a keen focus on patient-centric healthcare-related solutions.  For more than 30 years, Dr. Radmand has been at the forefront of the treatment of medically complex patients and is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of dental sleep medicine.  Throughout his career, Dr. Radmand has endeavored to combine innovation and advanced technology to produce enhanced therapeutic outcomes well beyond the existing industry standards.

Dr. Radmand’s career began as a hospital-trained dentist with expertise in the treatment of medically complex patients as a clinician, academician, and researcher.   While on staff at the UCLA School of Dentistry, he developed a pioneering didactic curriculum as part of the core academic program.  In addition to maintaining a robust private practice, Dr. Radmand has held faculty positions at world-renowned institutions including UCLA School of Dentistry, Yale-New Haven Hospital Department of Dentistry, and research collaborator at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Division of Sleep Medicine.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Radmand has engaged in various clinical studies alongside some of the most esteemed scientists in the field, employing oral sleep appliances embedded with biosensors. Dr. Radmand a is currently a research collaborator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Division of Sleep Medicine and an academic lecturer with the Department of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Radmand has also chaired numerous task forces at the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and published multiple protocols for custom oral sleep appliance therapy for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Radmand is an Academic Fellow of the American Academy of Oral Medicine and President of the Massachusetts Sleep Society.

Dr. Radmand is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry and completed his Hospital Dentistry Residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry.

Yitzhak Mendelson, Ph.D.

Dr. Mendelson is an Emeritus Professor of Biomedical Engineering who retired from Worcester Polytechnic Institute as a tenured professor.  His academic career spanned almost 40 years and focused on the development of biomedical sensors, bio instrumentation, signal processing, and noninvasive medical diagnostics to improve clinical diagnosis. Dr. Mendelson’s academic work garnered millions of dollars in funding from government, non-profit and industrial organizations.  His vigorous academic research program produced over 140 seminal publications in leading medical and engineering journals, several patents, and multiple book chapters that contributed to the field of noninvasive measurements of blood oxygen saturation and glucose.  Dr. Mendelson was a co-founder of several medical device companies, and he served as a technical consultant to major medical instrumentation companies.  Dr. Mendelson’s research was funded by numerous grants including from the DoD, NIH, and NSF.  He also served as a scientific reviewer for several leading scientific publications and research granting agencies.

Rachel R. Miller

Ms. Miller is responsible for all operational matters for Achaemenid.  She offers a wealth of experience as a principal of Cascata Partners, a private investment firm with interests in various operating companies including investments in innovative medical technologies.  Ms. Miller continues to serve in various management capacities within Cascata’s portfolio of investments and operating companies.  She also maintains a legal practice in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.

Bahar Radmand

Ms. Radmand is the Operations Manager for Achaemenid.  Since Achaemenid’s inception, Ms. Radmand has been responsible for the coordination and management of our medical device clinical studies conducted in collaboration with our prestigious group of academic and healthcare partners.

Ms. Radmand earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.

Neil M. Miller

Mr. Miller serves as Chief Financial Officer of Guardian Companies, a diversified private real estate development and operating company in Southern California with over $1 billion in assets.  Mr. Miller is also a principal of Cascata Partners, a private investment firm with interests in various operating companies including investments in innovative medical technologies.  He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Golf Corporation, a 250-course private operating company, and its affiliated real estate investment trust, National Golf Properties.  Prior to being taken private in 2003, National Golf was a publicly-traded REIT (NYSE: TEE) for which Mr. Miller served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Miller holds a JD from Pepperdine University School of Law, an MBA from Washington University, and a BS in Finance from Indiana University.  He is a member of the State Bar of California.

Dr. Mona Birjandi

Dr. Birjandi is an expert in the application of microeconomics, econometrics, statistics, and data analysis techniques to complex and strategic business issues, with a focus on the intersection of economics, AI, data science and causal modeling in innovative industries. She obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University, which equipped her with a strong foundation in economic theory and research methodology. As a Principal Economist at Petco, Dr. Birjandi works with an interdisciplinary team of data scientists and business leaders to use modern data science and ML methods, estimate econometric and predictive models on large scale multidimensional data, design experiments, measure their impact, and transform successful prototypes into improved pricing related policies and programs at scale. In her previous role as an economic consultant, Dr. Birjandi has led teams of economists and data analysts in conducting economic analyses on intellectual property, antitrust, and competition issues across a range of industries, including technology market, labor market, telecommunications, consumer and industrial goods, and energy sector. Dr. Birjandi’s consulting experience bridged all phases of commercial litigation support, including discovery assistance, report writing, deposition testimony, trial testimony, and the performance of complex analyses relating to the quantification of economic damages. Dr. Birjandi has a proven track record in designing and estimating econometric models to solve concrete business problems related to competitive effects of mergers, alleged price erosion, lost sales, lost profits, and reasonable royalty damages in patent infringement matters.
